Qi Gong & Tai Chi
Slow, flowing internal arts that cultivate life energy, balance and unhurried strength.
With roots in Chinese longevity practice reaching back some four thousand years, Tai Chi evolved as a martial art in the Chen village in the 1600s; Qi Gong's healing branches were refined through Taoist, Buddhist and medical lineages.
Tension, poor balance and a racing system — needing strength that comes from softness.
About This Practice
Qi Gong ('energy skill') and Tai Chi are China's internal arts: slow, continuous movement coordinated with breath and attention, practised for centuries to cultivate qi, loosen the joints and settle the heart. They look gentle; underneath, they are profound training in balance, rootedness and calm power.
Sessions teach short, repeatable forms and standing meditation — weight-shifting, spiralling, softening the chest, sinking the mind into the body. The practice is cumulative: regular attendance reveals steadier balance, easier breathing and a quieter baseline.
