I Ching & Pendulum
Ancient Chinese divination and dowsing — simple, direct counsel from the pattern beneath events.
The I Ching's roots reach back some three thousand years to the Zhou dynasty, evolving from ancient divination into the foundational text of Chinese philosophy. Dowsing with pendulums has parallel traditions across Europe and Asia for millennia.
Circles of overthinking — needing simple, direct guidance on a decision at hand.
About This Practice
The I Ching, or Book of Changes, is the oldest of the Chinese classics: sixty-four hexagrams describing every possible configuration of change. Ask a sincere question, cast coins, and the oracle returns a reading of where you stand within the larger pattern — and how to move with it.
In an I Ching consultation, coins are cast six times to build a hexagram, which is read alongside its transforming lines. Pendulum work complements this for simpler yes/no questions — the practitioner attunes to your energy field and lets the pendulum's swing indicate the answer.
