Shamanic Breathwork
A breath-and-music journey into non-ordinary states for healing, vision and reconnection.
Developed by Linda Star Wolf in the 1990s, weaving conscious breathwork with core shamanic practice — a lineage itself drawing on tens of thousands of years of trance and healing ceremony across indigenous cultures.
Feeling disconnected — from your body, your aliveness, or a sense of meaning and belonging.
About This Practice
Shamanic Breathwork blends deep, accelerated breathing with a journey of chakra-attuned music — drumming, gongs, voice — to carry the breather into a trance state where deep healing and insight occur. It is a ceremony of breath: the breather sets an intention, then lets the journey do its work.
In a supported circle or one-on-one, the breather breathes deeply and continuously while the music moves through the energy centres, each stage evoking what needs to be felt and freed. Facilitators hold a safe, ceremonial space; journeys often end with art, sharing and grounding.
