💫 Somatic & Embodiment

Somatic Movement & Healing

Healing that starts in the body — slow, mindful movement that rewrites held tension and trauma.

Ancient Origin

The word 'somatic' — 'of the living body' — was brought into bodywork by Thomas Hanna in the 1970s, building on Feldenkrais' movement research and later deepened by trauma therapists like Peter Levine.

What It Helps With

Chronic tension, numbness and trauma symptoms — when the body holds what words cannot reach.

About This Practice

Somatic work rests on a simple truth: the body keeps the score, and the body can also release it. Somatic movement uses slow, attentive micro-movement and felt sense to reawaken the body's own capacity to complete, integrate and let go of what it has been holding.

How a Session Works

Sessions are guided from within: tiny movements, pandiculation (conscious contraction-release), and tracking sensation as it shifts. The nervous system learns safety again — not through talking about the past, but through new, present-moment experience.
