Kundalini Yoga

The yoga of awareness — kriyas of breath, movement, chant and mantra to awaken energy and clear the mind.

Ancient Origin

An ancient tantric practice of India, brought to the wider world by Yogi Bhajan in 1969 and carried since through a global lineage of teachers.

What It Helps With

Fog, low mood and scattered energy — wanting to feel awake, clear and steady fast.

About This Practice

Kundalini yoga is often called the householder's yoga: fast-acting, precise sets (kriyas) combining posture, breath, mantra and eye-focus, designed to shift your state in minutes. Where some yogas refine the body slowly, Kundalini aims straight at the nervous system and consciousness.

How a Session Works

A class opens with tuning in, moves through a kriya with a specific effect (for the lungs, the spine, the mind), and lands in deep meditation and song. Breath of fire, chanting and rhythmic movement energise and clear; the afterglow is a rare combination of alert and calm.
