Aerial & Therapeutic Yoga

Yoga in a soft hammock — spinal decompression, supported alignment and playful flight.

Ancient Origin

A contemporary practice, emerging in the 2000s at the intersection of traditional Hatha, gymnastics and aerial arts, and quickly embraced for its therapeutic and accessible qualities.

What It Helps With

Back compression, gravity-worn joints, and the joylessness of routine — a body that wants lightness.

About This Practice

Aerial yoga suspends practice in a soft fabric hammock, letting gravity become the teacher. Weight-bearing disappears from the joints, the spine gently decompresses, and poses become both easier and deeper — with an unbroken current of joy underneath the work.

How a Session Works

Sessions mix grounded warm-ups with aerial postures: seated and inversions in the hammock, supported stretches and — in therapeutic formats — gentle traction for the spine, guided one-to-one for recovery and confidence. No experience needed; the fabric holds you.
